(A) dog licenses are valid for one year either from the date of purchase or to the
dog's rabies vaccination expiration date, whichever comes first.
(B) a
dog license isn't transferable to another
dog. A
dog license is assigned to the
dog & for the life of licence remains with the
dog when it's transfered to another owner. When transfered, a
dog's new owner with notify the County within 30 days of the transfer.
(C) dogs displaying a current license from a jurisdictions outside Deschutes County, but within Oregon, don't require licensing until the expiration of their current license - provided that the
dog remains in the possession of the owner to whom the license was issued.
