Brake lights - defined
ORS > Vehicle Code > Equipment - Lighting > 816.100
(1) are on rear of vehicle. If more than one (1) light required (see 816.320) at least one is placed on each side of vehicle's rear
(3) emit a red light...
(4) emit a steady light
(5) plainly visible, capable of being seen & distinguishable from 500ft to the rear in normal daylight
(6) mounted, as far as practicable, to reduce hazard of being obscured by debris thrown by wheels.
(7) don't project a glaring/dazzling light
(8) may be part of taillight.
(9) activate when braking
(11) on motorcycle may flash intermittently as long as they don't override rear turn signal function.
