Violation of open container law
ORS > Vehicle Code > Careless & Reckless Behaviour > 811.170
(1)(a) drink any alcoholic liquor in a motor vehicle when it's on a highway
(b) possesses on person, while in motor vehicle on a highway, any container containing any alcoholic liquor, which is opened, or a seal broken, or whose contents have been partially removed.
(c) keeps any container containing any alcoholic liquor, which is opened, or seal broken, or whose contents have been partially removed in a motor vehicle when it's on highway. The following apply to this paragraph:
(A) applies only to the registered owner, or if not present, the driver
(B) doesn't apply if a container is in the trunk or, if the vehicle doesn't have a trunk, kept in an area not normally occupied by the driver or passengers
(C) a utility compartment or glove box is considered within the area occupied by the driver & passengers
(D) doesn't apply to the living quarters of a camper or motor home.
(2) doesn't apply to passengers in a motor vehicle operated by a common carrier & used primarily to carry passengers for hire
